Drink driver caught 12 hours after drinking 18 stubbies

A GRACEMERE man who had 18 stubbies at a gathering in Mackay before driving home was fined $450 in Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday.

Matthew Allan Shaw pleaded guilty to one count of drink driving.

The court heard police intercepted him at 4.25pm on December 6, more than 12 hours after he had his last drink.

Shaw recorded a blood alcohol content of 0.052% and was disqualified from driving for a period of two months.
