Driver and children unhurt
A WOMAN escaped serious injury to herself and two children when she drove into a traffic light pole on Tanby Road, Yeppoon, yesterday afternoon.
A witness to the accident said the woman, aged in her 30s, came out of Charles Street and appeared to drive directly into the pole on the median strip of the busy road at 3.50pm.
The woman was treated by ambulance for a cut to her leg, but no one was taken to hospital.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The traffic lights were only recently installed as part of Rockhampton Regional Council's Tanby Road upgrade.
Meanwhile in Rockhampton yesterday morning, a vehicle reported to have been stolen from a North Rockhampton home on Sunday was found on the bank of the Fitzroy River.
A man on a boat alerted police to the location of a suspicious vehicle in Depot Hill.
