Driver killed in highway crash

ONE person died and another was airlifted to hospital in Rockhampton yesterday after a collision on the Carnarvon Highway near Rolleston.

Queensland Ambulance Service said the dead person had been driving a four-wheel-drive pulling a caravan that was in a collision with a semi-trailer.

A spokeswoman for QAS said last night that the accident happened at 3.07pm. The patient flown to Rockhampton by helicopter had injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
