Man in hospital with multiple injuries after car crash

UPDATE, 7.45PM: Queensland Ambulance Service have transported a man in his 50s to Rockhampton Hospital with a head and leg injury after a single-vehicle crash on Yeppoon Road on Monday evening.

The crash reportedly occurred in the Limestone Creek area at 6.07pm.

Initial reports suggest the vehicle "crashed into a ditch".

It is understood the driver was "trapped in the vehicle" with a "serious injury" and had to be extricated by Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.

Reports suggest the man was transported to Rockhampton Hospital, however, his condition was unknown.

Emergency services closed the westbound lanes of Yeppoon Road, between Access Road 4 and 5.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the road had since reopened.
