Drug charge for man 1800km from home

POLICE have arrested a Moura man in far north Queensland for allegedly evading police and possessing dangerous drugs.

The 41-year-old was caught at 9.15pm yesterday on Portland Road, Lockhart River in Cape York.

He's accused of possessing a quantity of drugs when he was pulled over by police 1800km north of Rockhampton.

The man is due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on January 11, 2010.
