Man caught driving after he “just finished smoking cannabis”

A ROCKHAMPTON Magistrate has slammed a man's actions who was caught driving after he "just finished smoking cannabis", warning him he risked being sent to jail.

Mark James Eade pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court last Tuesday to one count each of possessing dangerous drugs and possessing drug-related utensils after police intercepted him at 5pm on September 15.

They found one gram of cannabis in a bowl in the footwell of his car, and scissors and a cone piece used in the connection of drugs.

"You're starting to look at a term of imprisonment," Magistrate Press said.

"You will end up going to jail if you keep at it.

"If you can't calm yourself without drugs, you shouldn't be driving around with drugs in your system and I bet you are. You need to see a medical professional."

Eade was sentenced to 12 months' probation for both offences.
