Drug lab bust latest in round-up
A SUSPECTED mini drug lab operating out of a Yeppoon unit was busted by Yeppoon CIB on Tuesday morning.
Police searched the Lammermoor unit on a warrant at 10.30am and found and seized equipment suspected of being used in making amphetamines.
The instruments have been sent to a Brisbane police laboratory for examination.
Police also seized a small amount of cannabis and amphetamines, a large quantity of an unknown substance and also drug utensils. They also found tools suspected of being stolen.
A 27-year-old Lammermoor man was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a relevant substance or thing, two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of equipment used in a crime, possession of a utensil and unlawful possession of suspected stolen property.
He will face the Yeppoon Magistrates Court on May 6.
The bust was a result of Operation Calwell, an ongoing operation targeting illegal drugs and firearms on the Capricorn Coast.
