'A ride not a ride-on': Boozy spin with a difference

A TASMANIAN man may need to fork over more than a full jerrycan after he took a boozy spin down to his local petrol station to fill up his ride-on mower.

The unidentified man was caught on CCTV driving, very slowly, the mower up to the bowser on October 1.

The plan seemed efficient enough: why drive the car to pick up the petrol when you can take the mower to the pump?

However, there were several things awry with the plan, notably he was being followed by police and he was nearly three times over the limit.

The man eventually blew 0.143 and no doubt, was led away from his "vehicle".

In a post on their Facebook page, the Tasmanian police couldn't help but, ahem, cut the man down to size.

"Mate … we suggest getting a ride not a ride-on!"

"Organising a designated driver does not mean John Deere…"
