Dry weekend but rain to return

THE rain may have cleared on the weekend, but more showers are coming our way.

The Bureau of Meteorology has predicted rain all week for Rockhampton, with maximum temperatures in the low 30s.

It said the chance of rain was at 80 to 90%.

During Saturday and Sunday only 0.8mm of rain fell on the city and 2mm fell on Friday.

This was tiny compared to the 152.2mm dumped on Rockhampton between Tuesday and Thursday, with some Central Queensland areas receiving more than 200mm.

No rain was recorded across CQ yesterday, the bureau said.

January’s annual average is 127mm.

In 2003 the city only had 1.6mm for the month, but in 1974 the total was 660mm.
