Duo’s barber shop dream latest installment of CBD new treats
THERE is only one way to find out if your business will be a success and that is to "give it a shot".
That's the advice from new business owners Evan Treacy and Cohen Wassell, who will open the doors to their barber shop tomorrow.
Thieves and Beggars is the latest in a string of shops to open on East St in the past few months.
Despite a slow business economy in Rockhampton at the moment, Evan said opening the barber shop has been a dream and they weren't going to let a slow local economy scare them off.
Evan said if they didn't pursue their business, they would have ended up regretting it.
Evan and Cohen have several years hairdressing experience under their belts as well as a Certificate III in Hairdressing each.
The business partners had been working in a North Rockhampton barber shop and when its doors shut, it was the right time to move on.
Evan and Cohen knew they both wanted to stay in the trade.
"We love the (barber shop) environment and being able to talk to people," Evan said.
"It's a real social job and it suits our personalities.
"You get to meet different people and you get to make people feel good about themselves."
Evan and Cohen are confident in their business and are already making plans for the future.
"We're definitely thinking big, but we have to start off small, we'd like to get into product ambassadors (at some stage)," Evan said.
Thieves and Beggars opens its doors at 9am tomorrow.
