Dusty dramas for our airport
ROCKHAMPTON Airport was prepared to host a diverted international aircraft on Wednesday due to the thick dust storm across Queensland.
The contingency plans were not needed for the international diversion.
The last plane scheduled to leave Rockhampton on Wednesday departed two hours late on course to Brisbane.
There were only two domestic passenger planes to divert to Rockhampton due to the dust.
The first from Adelaide left for its destination of Brisbane at 4pm Wednesday.
The second diverted service from Melbourne departed for Brisbane at 7.30am yesterday after an engineer cleared it for service and crews completed a rest break.
The Melbourne service was headed for the Gold Coast.
