Ease cost of living: Malone

MEMBER for Mirani Ted Malone says the Bligh government should deliver a back-to-basics Budget today to help Queenslanders burdened by rocketing living costs.

“We really need to see a back-to-basics Budget that takes the weight off people,” Mr Malone said from Brisbane yesterday.

He said as a member of the LNP he would have to wait to see the details of the Budget.

“My view is we don't really need big-budget items,” Mr Malone said.

“We have seen this government for the past 20 years bring in policies that have raised the cost of living for us all.”

He said he would like to see the government get “fair dinkum” about the Bruce Highway and provide some funding for the Rockhampton Airport.

Mr Malone said he looked forward to seeing what projects in his electorate would be supported.
