Elrich ready if he gets the call for Socceroos

ADELAIDE United's Tarek Elrich could have been forgiven for thinking his chance of a Socceroos cap had gone after playing for three A-League clubs in three years.

But the 28-year-old right back is set to debut for Ange Postecoglou's team against Macedonia tomorrow morning in Skopje after a standout season for the Reds earned him his first call-up for Australia.

Ten years ago Elrich (pictured) made his first appearance for the young Socceroos, and if given the chance by the coach tomorrow, he said he would take it with both hands.

"It's massive for me, I'd love to get the opportunity to go out there with the boys and give it my best crack," Elrich told FFA TV.

"Obviously a debut is something I've been looking forward to for a long time. It's a dream I thought was never going to come," he added.

"I'm just glad that I'm here and as I've said in many interviews before, I'll give it my best crack and see how we go."
