Emerald flood hearing today
FIVE witnesses will speak this afternoon in the first day of hearings in Emerald for the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry.
The witnesses will include the head of the Central Highlands local disaster management committee Des Howard, Queensland Police Service Sergeant Jim Kelly, AgForce Central Queensland regional manager Danielle Hogarth, Emerald resident Max Mayne and former regional councillor Gail Nixon.
A team of lawyers from the flood inquiry will fly into Emerald this morning after a day of hearings in Rockhampton yesterday.
The Inquiry will continue for a second day on Thursday in Emerald, before returning to Brisbane for more hearings in the state capital.
