Emmaus teams have touch glory with three grand final wins

EMMAUS Touch Academy had a strong showing in the Rockhampton Senior Touch Grand Finals, featuring in three grand finals and winning two of them, including the Emmaus Open A Team defeating Buckaneers Red to claim the A Men's final.

Australian touch representatives Gavin Schuker and Jayden Benbow played in the Buckaneers team, but the Emmaus boys wouldn't be denied.

It was a historic occasion; the first time a schools team has won the A Men's final. The game was locked at six all at full time, but Emmaus won in a drop off 7-6.

Player of the final was Emmaus' Harrison Griffin.

The Emmaus under 13 boys team made it back-to-back victories. After winning the state championships in Brisbane last month, they defeated the C Men's team in the senior touch finals on Wednesday night.

Again it went to a drop off, with the Emmaus boys winning 6-5.

The Emmaus open girls made the B Grade Womens final, but lost 6-3.
