Emmaus’ new principal is announced

EMMAUS College has found a new principal in Eamon Hannan.

The current St Patrick's College Mackay principal will be starting off the new school year with Emmaus in 2016.

The educator also served as the Deputy Principal at Clairvax MacKillop College in Brisbane.

Mr Hannan was selected through a process which involved the Parish Priest, Don White, the School Board and representatives from the Parents and Friends Association.

In a letter addressed to parents, Diocesan Director of Catholic Education Leesa Jeffcoat said Mr Hannan was "well versed" in leadership.

"The panel found Eamon to be very well skilled in all areas of leadership," she said.

"Eamon is a man of deep faith and demonstrates a well-developed sense of Christian leadership with the skills and knowledge to nurture the faith of students and staff."

Ms Jeffcoat also thanked former Principal Terry Beaton for the leadership he had displayed since 1998.

"Terry has placed a significant role in shaping the story of Emmaus College over the past 36 years as a teacher, Deputy Principal and Principal," she said.
