Emu Park will buzz with bonanza fever this weekend

EMU Park's town centre will come alive with Christmas cheer and community spirit this weekend, as the annual Christmas Bonanza starts at 9am.

Held on the first Saturday of December each year, local businesses bring some of their goods outside the store, with special sales available on the day.

Several charities will be involved, selling tickets for their Christmas hampers and prizes.

Music and entertainment by local groups and singers will create a buzzing atmosphere, while there will also be plenty of giveaways for adults and children.

A petting zoo will also be set up at Bendigo Bank, with a sausage sizzle at the local butcher, and Radio 4NAG will play all of the hits as well.

Emu Park Newspower is holding a colouring competition.

Prize draws start about 1pm and Santa will arrive shortly after for photos and armed with lollies.

Bell Park Bakery is giving away a Ziggy barbecue, Emu Park Newspower is giving away a TV, and Unleashed Hair in the Hill St arcade is giving away a retro bike.

Unleashed Hair owner Aliesha Smith said the event was a great way for business owners to get out and meet the locals, and encouraged them to visit the top end of Hill St.
