Kemp Beach accesses still closed

FARNBOROUGH Road has reopened to all traffic but Kemp Beach accesses remain closed.

Rockhampton Regional Council officers have been working to restore accesses to the Yeppoon beach, caused by high tides and heavy rain.

The only access point to Kemp Beach is at the northern tip near Beaches Bistro.

That hasn't stopped keen surfers hunting down a wave.

Earlier today, the high tide and an inundation of water around low lying areas caused Farnborough Road, near the surf club at the Bluff, to be diverted from four lanes to two lanes.

See tomorrow's Morning Bulletin for a rundown of where the rain fell and a full wrap-up of flood damage around the region.
