Ex-mayor Pilbeam: where, when?

COLOURFUL Rockhampton identity and former mayor of 31 years, the late Rex Pilbeam, features in today's Blast from the Past series.

Mr Pilbeam is remembered for the many things he did for the Rockhampton community during his time as Rockhampton Mayor, with the Pilbeam Theatre being named after him.

However, we have no information of when or where this image was taken, and hope you, our reader, can help us shed some light on this moment captured in time.

Our 150 Years of News project last year uncovered a treasure trove of great photos from our past.

While we published hundreds of those images in the Bully and our 150 Years of News book, many more deserve to be shared with our readers.

As a result, we have launched Blast from the Past to highlight these classic news photos.

If you have any information at all about this photo of the late Mr Pilbeam, please phone The Morning Bulletin on 49 304 283.

We hope you enjoy these fascinating Bulletin images throughout 2012.
