Eye spy some great shots from 1920s costume photographer
Vanessa Eyles has loved photography since her stepfather gave Vanessa her first camera at only 13.
But it's only recently that the mother-of-two has been able to realise her dream of becoming a professional photographer.
In December Vanessa opened Eye Spy a Studio after her family moved to Rockhampton from Rolleston for her daughters' schooling.
"I had always wanted to do it," she said. "And moving to a bigger town gave me that opportunity."
Vanessa describes herself as a mostly self-taught photographer, despite having done a course in her native country, New Zealand.
But when she decided to open her studio, she wanted to add her own piece of flair and creativity. She specialises in costume photos, particularly from the 1920s and the saloon western era.
Although, Vanessa said photographing people in costume wasn't her only passion. "I've just always liked that idea of capturing the moment," Vanessa said.
She also photographs weddings, couples, maternity, newborns, family, formals and portraits, and has a photo booth for parties and weddings.
