Family escapes Kawana house fire

BREAKING 1pm: A fire broke out in a two-storey house on Duffy Street in Kawana around 9.30pm Sunday.

All occupants of the home managed to escape the blaze and were treated by paramedics at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.

No one required transport to hospital.

Fire crews worked quickly to prevent the fire from spreading from the upper storey to the lower storey of the house.

The top level of the structure sustained significant damage
