Family fun, it's Show time!

SOPHIE Brotherton sipped on her purple and red slush puppy while she watched her dad fly metres up into the air on a “crazy” ride yesterday, for the first day of the Rockhampton Show.

Her second time at the Rocky Show, the six-year-old said she had a great day.

“My favourite thing about the Show is the rides,” Sophie said.

And when Sophie talked about rides, she didn’t mean the tea-cup or the dodgem cars either.

“I’ve been on the Crazy Mouse rollercoaster and I just got off the Flash Dance,” she said.

“I also got to hold a baby snake at the reptile show.”

The Brotherton family of three soaked up the Rocky Show atmosphere trying everything on offer, from catching the duckies to win a prize in side-show alley, to watching the woodworks demonstrations.

Mum Sandie said the Rockhampton Show was a fun time for anyone.

“It’s a great opportunity to have a family day together and we all take turns in what we choose to do next,” Sandie said.

“We’ve been here since nine this morning, so we like to get the most out of the day in this beautiful weather.

And the next thing to tick off the list to complete the Rocky Show experience for little Miss Sophie was a show bag.

“I’d like to get a Scooby-Doo show bag and go on some more rides for the rest of the day.”
