Family ready for Rocky River Run

WITH five young daughters, life can be pretty busy for parents Pauline and Marty Crow.

But this year they'll be making a family fun day out of the Rocky River Run next month.

Marty was the motivation for getting involved this year, said his wife Pauline.

“Marty's run every year for the Rocky River Run, but this year we thought we'd all have a go,” she said.

“It's a really nice family thing, everyone can join in, and it's always good to support events like this that are valuable causes.”

And they're already in training for the day.

Marty said he ran about three times a week.

“The girls sometimes come along with me, but only for the first few kilometres,” he said.

This year Marty plans to push himself a bit harder than previous River Runs by competing in the 21km half marathon.

Rotary Club of Rockhampton public relations chairman Neil McDonell said they wanted to encourage more families to the event.

“We've organised a cloak room for families to put their belongings in on the day.”

Previous registration problems on the Rocky River Run website have been solved and all are welcome to register or try registering again.
