Sharon Edwards 'didn't have an enemy in the world'

THE fact missing Grafton woman Sharon Edwards did not have an enemy in the world is one of the biggest hindrances to the investigation into her disappearance and probable murder.

Yesterday her estranged husband John Edwards said exactly those words as he made an impassioned plea for anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward.

Police: foul play 'probable' in Sharon Edwards Case

And it was a sentiment Coffs Clarence crime manager Detective Inspector Darren Jameson repeated soon after.

"That's what makes this so hard," he said. "She didn't have any enemies."

One of the three sons, Josh Edwards, addressed the media gathering.

"It makes us sick to think we might never know what happened," Josh Edwards said. "We would give anything for some answers.

"The hardest part is not knowing how to feel because we have no answers.

"There's somebody out there who knows something, so we're asking if there's any information - no matter how insignificant it is - to please share it with police so we can end this nightmare."

Edwards family overwhelmed by support

John Edwards spoke after his son, breaking into tears as he described their 33-year marriage.

He told how he and Sharon had celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary with an overseas trip a few years ago and had repeated it last year.

While he was talking tears were on his cheeks and he put his arms around his sons at time and hugged them to him.

"We had lots of plans for the future," he said. "We've got three great boys that we're so proud of.

"We love little Harlow, our granddaughter, she's the most important thing in the world to us."

At the time of his wife's disappearance, the couple were estranged, although John was staying with Mrs Edwards at their Riverdale Court address.

John said on the night of Mrs Edwards' disappearance he had told her he would stay at Lawrence, where the couple has a property.

It was also revealed Mrs Edwards was with a "boyfriend" at the GI Hotel on Saturday night and this man has been cleared of involvement in her disappearance.

Police have formed Task Force Burrow to continue the investigation into her disappearance and likely death.
