Fans slam TV bride after she forces Simon to cut curls

MARRIED At First Sight bride Alene has received major backlash online after insisting on giving her new 'husband' Simon a full makeover on the show - including a dramatic haircut.

In a scene that surprised absolutely no one who saw Alene's face when Simon first appeared in front of her with his mop of curly hair, the farmer finally succumbed to his fate last night and allowed a hairdresser to change his look.

But it was clear he wasn't happy about it, and was suggesting a trim before his partner's begging eventually won and he accepted defeat.

Alene loves Simon's new look.

After the cut, Alene's lukewarm attraction to Simon appeared to skyrocket, with the nurse gushing about how "hot” he looked, saying: "I can't express how appreciative I am.”

It may have all appeared rosy on-screen, but fans on Twitter were quick to slam Alene for being so "shallow.”

One wrote: "Alene back off! You didn't marry a good bloke to make him someone else - let him be and find someone who fits your shallow ideals.”

Others were a little softer in their approach.

"Simon you look great! And for the record. I thought you looked great with the curls too.”

However, there's no doubt that whatever the method, the feedback on the actual makeover was overwhelmingly positive.

Even Simon eventually admitted he didn't mind his new look.

'It's still a bit out of my comfort zone, but it's a nice change,' he said.
