Yesterday: hottest day of the year

WE’VE endured a hot couple of weeks and a shower or thunderstorm today probably won’t do much to bring a cooler change to Rockhampton.

Yesterday was the hottest we’ve had all year, with the mercury rocketing to 38.3 degrees.

It closed out a hotter than normal November, about six degrees warmer than it usually is for the month.

Today there won’t be much reprieve for Rockhampton, with the same weather predicted for the start of December.

November was the ninth month in a row in which the average maximum temperature for the month was hotter than the long-term average maximum.

Last month the maximum temperature was usually around 32.9 degrees, about 1.7 degrees higher than normal.

It was 38 degrees on Sunday and today it’s expected to be about 37.

By tomorrow, some wet weather is forecast to bring top temperatures in Rockhampton down around 33.

December should start with some cooler weather than what we endured last month.

This weekend should be sunny. Tops of 35 degrees are expected.

Keep up-to-date with the latest weather information for Rockhampton.
