Emma's impressive swims at Pacific School Games

YOUNG Emu Park swimmer, Emma Doherty shot out of the blocks with a series of impressive swims at the Pacific School Games in Adelaide.

Emma kicked off her campaign with a bronze medal in the 10 years 200 metre individual medley on Saturday, stopping the clock at 2:57.36.

She narrowly missed the silver medal, edged out by just .11 of a second.

Before the race Emma had admitted she was nervous.

"Wow there are a lot of people here," she said.

But once the swimmers were marshalled Emma regained her focus.

The following day Emma impressed as a member of two Queensland relay teams.

In the 10 years 200m medley relay the Queensland girls finished sixth but Emma swam a personal best time in the backstroke leg.

Emma then lined up in the 10 years 400m freestyle relay and notched another PB as the Queensland girls powered their way to a silver medal.

She shaved a massive three seconds off her previous best for the 100m freestyle, clocking 1:10.76.

The multi-sport games continue until Sunday.
