Rocky Mayor pitches city tagline "buzzing not bustling"
TAKE a good hard look at what's happening here.
That is the thrust of new branding for the Rockhampton region, unveiled yesterday by Mayor Margaret Strelow.
It features bright and vibrant colours and taglines such as "Buzzing not bustling", "Where business suits" and "Studying everything from ABCs to PhDs".
Cr Strelow said the new look and feel was the first step in the campaign to get businesses, industry and visitors to take a good hard look at all the great things Rockhampton has to offer across the region.
"Not only do we have a world-class beef industry, but also an expanding industrial and business sector, and growing employment in the areas of health and education," she said.
"I'm really proud of our region and want to share and spread our story with visitors and businesses to our region and across Queensland."
Cr Strelow said the Rockhampton region had so much potential and it was time to stand up and shout it to the rest of Australia.
"We are a thriving, diverse and accessible regional hub offering an affordable lifestyle and a place to grow your family, your qualifications, your career and your business," she said.
"We hope our residents will get on board our new campaign and encourage their own families and friends to stay a while longer and get to know our region and, even better, make the move.
"Rockhampton is on track for success - it's happening here and it's happening now."
