Fellows and team shoot for the stars

WAYNE Fellows and his team will be hoping they are firing on all cylinders when they represent Capricorn Country Club at the National Championship final of the Holden Scramble.

The tournament is a massive event with 10,000 teams competing to make the final, making it Australia’s largest and most successful Pro-Am event.

The result places the team of Fellows, Rodney Leis, Matthew Oliver, Steve Wilson and Capricorn Country Club’s head professional Colin Baynton into December’s final at Twin Waters Resort on the Sunshine Coast with 27 other teams.

It was not an easy road for the team as first they had to compete locally against 15 teams where the club held home advantage.

Next stage was the Regional final at Capricorn Resort’s course, Yeppoon, last month where Capricorn Country Club was the winner, but it required a mathematician to sort out the result as they only did it by 0.3 of a shot.

The final will be played from December 4 to 7 with 36 holes of golf.
