Felthouse bail hearing adjourned

A MAN in custody since June last year facing violence and weapon charges has had his bail hearing adjourned.

Jason Ryan Felthouse appeared in the Supreme Court at Rockhampton this morning and asked for an extra week to prepare a bail application.

Felthouse, who is representing himself, faces seven charges including deprivation of liberty, acts intended to maim, disfigure or disable and assault occasioning bodily harm while armed in company.

He was committed to stand trial in October last year on charges relating to an incident in Rockhampton on May 13 last year.

He said he wanted to adjourn the hearing because he had not received a letter offering employment which he wanted to include in his application.

He also said he had only received the Crown submission this morning.

Justice Duncan McMeekin granted the adjournment for next Thursday but said Felthouse needed to demonstrate there had been a “material change” since his last application in the Gladstone Magistrates Court.
