POLL: The food and wine festival is moving? Like or dislike?
NO WONDER Rockhampton's food and wine lovers were popping the champagne corks yesterday.
Rockhampton Regional Council yesterday announced the Capricorn Food and Wine Festival was relocating from the Mercure Capricorn Resort Yeppoon to the Rockhampton riverfront.
The move is expected to see the event double in size, with more than 8000 people expected to attend.
Do you like the idea that the Capricorn Food and Wine Festival is relocating?

Event director Timothy Buchholz said the festival had outgrown its location, which was home to the event for the past two years.
"The relocation opens up exciting options for us in the way we stage the event, along with greater catering and entertainment option, and enhancing the festival experience for everyone," he said.
Mr Buchholz said many venues throughout the region were assessed.
The riverfront was the most obvious and cost-effective location, Mr Buchholz said.
"While the 'hub' of the festival will be the Fitzroy riverbank, the city of Rockhampton and its flourishing hospitality industry will have the opportunity to profile itself."
Mayor Margaret Strelow said signature events like this supported the region's economic growth; with the potential for the CBD riverfront to become an iconic location.
