Fire approaches Cawarral home

UPDATE 7.35pm: SEVEN Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) crews, including one urban crew, are currently fighting a grass fire burning on Dairy Inn Road at Cawarral.

Firefighters were called to the fire around 11.40am and are backburning to contain the blaze.

More than 50 hectares of land has been burnt and the fire is producing thick smoke.

There is no immediate threat to houses.

 

12.29pm: FIRE crews are battling a grass fire at Cawarral, which has caused some concern for at least one property owner.

The property owner at Dairy Inn Road called authorities this morning after noticing the fire coming down a hill towards the house.

Numerous rural fire crew are in attendance.
