Fire crews working on blaze near Raglan, 55km south of Rocky

UPDATE: FIRE crews are continuing to monitor a grass fire near Raglan, 55km south of Rockhampton.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said firefighters are working to ensure the fire remains contained.

She said Gladstone Regional Council sent in a loader this morning to assist with the removal of a tree in danger of falling.

The fire does not pose a risk to homes.

EARLIER: A NUMBER of Rockhampton fire crews are working to contain a grass fire near Raglan, 55km south of Rockhampton.

Five rural and two urban units are backburning along the Bruce Highway from the Raglan Tavern down to Fire Creek Road.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution due to firefighters working in the area and smoke over the road. 

This fire does not currently pose any threat to homes.

Crews have been there since 12pm.
