Yeppoon house fire likely to be classed as not suspicious

WHILE investigations are still underway, a fire at a Yeppoon residence on Friday is likely to be declared "not suspicious".

A spokesperson from the Queensland Police Service said they were currently "leaning" in that direction after inquiries.

The fire broke out in a bedroom about 6pm on Whitman St, where one person was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.

The blaze was originally being treated as suspicious, with the home being declared a "crime scene" at the time.
