Fired with zeal for their roles

RAY Neilsen and Julianne Webster-Scott are at the firefront.

They are leading the way for Rockhampton after being recognised for their commitment and dedication to the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service.

While Ray, a senior firefighter, received the 2009 Regional Community Safety Operations Award, Julianne, the community liaison officer for the Central Region, took home the Regional Operational Support Award.

Representing Rockhampton, the pair was part of the Central Region 2009 Commissioner’s Awards for Excellence ceremony in Mackay on Tuesday.

Ray began his service with the QFRS in Rockhampton nearly 40 years ago and quickly moved up the ranks.

Julianne was appointed as community liaison officer for the Central Region in 2006. During her three years, her enthusiasm has never wavered.
