Firefighter sacked for sexual harassment

A QUEENSLAND firefighter has been sacked for misconduct and sexual harassment.

The 33-year-old from the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service's south eastern region was fired on Monday.

In a statement released late Monday night, a QFES spokesperson said the service was "unable to provide further comment regarding this matter while a period for appeal is current."

"In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have an undertaking to inform the public of employment terminations due to misconduct," they said.

Three Queensland firefighters were placed under investigation in September last year for allegedly using a Facebook poll to rank which of their female colleagues would be best in bed.
