Firefighters and police hunt for missing duckling

IT WAS a case of hide and seek for Toowoomba's emergency services on the hunt for a lost duckling.

About 3.30pm firefighters were responded to a rather unusual call-out in a residential area.

They were told a mother and father duck were "quacking" mad at one of their youngsters lost in underground drains.

Four fire fighters responded to Shoestring St and Wild Rd at Westbrook and were quickly followed by two police officers.

While all emergency services personnel tried their best to locate the missing duck, both in the drains and in the grass above, the case remains a mystery.

However, they hope the little duckling made it out and has re-joined its family.
