UPDATE: Fire fighters battling new fire at Hay Point

Update 6:30pm: 

TRAINS were stopped because of a fire near railway tracks at Hay Point this afternoon.

Emergency services received a call at 4.05pm  about a fire burning close to railway lines Horsburgh Rd at Hay Point.

Ergon were contacted to stop the trains as crews work to get it under control.

Two rural fire units and two urban units are on the scene.

The fire is said to be fast moving due to windy conditions in the area.

The vegetation fire burning at Pinevale is under control.

10 Rural  crews and  3 urban fire crews are currently back-burning and monitoring the fire and will continue to do so into the evening.

The main area of concern is near Vassallo's Rd.

Initial: FIRE fighters are in Pinevale, Midge Point and Bowen fighting fires that started today.

Queensland Fire crews are currently working to control a vegetation fire at Pinevale Rd, Pinevale.

The call was received at 11:54 am today and three crews are currently on the scene, with six more crew on route.

At 4.15pm today the fire was still going but was no threat to property or lives.

Fire fighter also went to a fire at Midge Point Rd and Mountain Dr, Midge Point at 9.40am.

At about 2pm, fire fighter were also called to a vegetation fire at Taloonda Rd, Bowen.
