Fireys race to trailer fire as wheat goes up in flames
A trailer full of wheat which caught fire on Condamine-Meandarra Road on the Western Downs, was under control by the time fire crews arrived on scene at 1.10pm.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency spokeswoman said the fire had been extinguished, although it did begin to smoulder prompting firefighters to ensure it was out completely.
"They left the scene just before 4pm," she said.
The spokeswoman said the trailer full of wheat had been detached from a prime mover and pushed off the highway.
No one was injured during the fire, and the cause of the blaze remains unknown.
A Queensland Police spokesman said initial reports indicate the fire had not been suspicious.
A semi trailer carrying wheat has burst into flamed on Condamine Meandarra Road.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency spokesman said five crews are currently racing to the fire on Tuesday afternoon, April 20.
The spokesman said the fire was reported at 11.50am, and initial reports indicate the fire is 25km from Meandarra.
