First look at the new Kmart range
KMART fans, you might want to be sitting down for this.
One item in the department store's new furniture range has already sent shoppers into an overnight frenzy awaiting its arrival. And if that wasn't exciting enough for all bargain hunters out there, this will blow your mind.
The retail chain is releasing a whole range of reasonably priced design-led homewares ready to drop next week.
According to a Kmart spokeswoman, the affordable "Inspired Living range" will "lift the look in any room of the home at irresistibly low prices".
The range spans furniture, homewares, interiors and outdoor decor, dining, bedding and bathroom accessories.
The new Inspired Living range includes the $35 Scandi shoe rack that has become one of the most wanted items in the nation after just one Instagram post, and other items are expected to be just as popular.
Pieces are split across three trends. One takes on a "more masculine look" which "is softened with the use of cosy textures", another uses traditional materials teamed with "contemporary new shapes, softened curves, and a fresh colour palette", and the third showcases "contemporary style with understated glamour that will stand the test of time".
Highly anticipated products include a velvet upholstered chair for $39, and faux leather cushions priced at $8 each.
Easily the most hyped piece in the range is a $35 Scandi-inspired grey shoe rack which is already making its way into keen Kmart-lovers' homes despite not officially going on sale until next Thursday.
The range was unveiled at a launch event in Melbourne on Wednesday, and when pictures started popping up on the social media, Facebook groups dedicated to the Kmart homewares craze went into meltdown.
One room set up for the launch event, stylishly fitted out with less than $200 worth of new Kmart kit led to predictions the products would walk out the door.
The new range is officially on sale from August 3, but eagle-eyed shoppers are started to notice certain pieces popping up on the floors of their local stores already.
Shoppers have reported seeing as many as 20 of the shoe racks unpacked today at the Chadstone store in Victoria.
A Kmart spokeswoman told news.com.au early stock shouldn't mean decreased availability once the official launch date rolls around.
"We will have full availability across all stores and online from Thursday 3 August for our Inspired Living launch."
