Fish-tailing hoon drives car through fence

Fish-tailing hoon crashes through fence and into front yard

A MAN has been charged with careless driving after crashing through a fence at Sadliers Crossing.

Challinor St resident John Francis was inside his home on Challinor St when he heard a loud bang about 11am Tuesday.

He went outside to see a black Holden ute in his front yard.

The ute had allegedly been fish-tailing up the street before losing control, mounting the gutter and crashing through Mr Francis' fence.

"Two young fellas were getting out of the car when I came outside," Mr Francis said. "The passenger seemed pretty shaken by it all, but neither of them were saying much."

Several nearby residents contacted police, who later charged the driver with several offences, including careless driving and having false number plates fitted to the vehicle.

Residents have complained about the frequency of speeding and hooning drivers in the area and have appealed for traffic calming measures.

Tuesday's crash in Challinor Street was not the first time a car has come unstuck in the same street. In April, 2013 a car crashed through a fence and into a pool.
