Fitzroy spear fishers fined $400

TWO people caught using home-made wooden spears from the Fitzroy River barrage have been fined $400 each.

The pair were seen making their way up the barrage fish ladder last Sunday.

Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol acting district officer Brenda Stevenson today said it was just one of a number of fisheries offences that have kept officers busy in the past few weeks.
