Five holiday activities for CQ families to do this week

Coming of the Light event

Wednesday, July 1: The traditional history of Christianity coming into the Torres Strait plus a Coming of the Light re-enactment. The event will be from 9am to 3pm at the Riverbank Amphitheatre in Quay St.

 

The Wiggles preschool tour

Friday, July 3: The Wiggles' tour follows the runaway success of last year. The event will be at The Pilbeam Theatre from 10am to 12.30pm.

Talisman Sabre Open Day

Sunday , July 5: This is your chance to get up close and personal to a vast display of military equipment and talk with US and Australian Defence Force personnel. The event will be at the Rockhampton Showgrounds from 11.30am. Food and drinks will be on sale. $2 entry fee.

 

Miniature train rides

Sunday, July 5: MELSA Rockhampton provides family fun with train rides. $2 for three laps or $10 for unlimited rides. The event will be at Leichhardt Park, on the corner of Cambridge and Campbell Sts, at 1pm. Enclosed footwear is required to ride the trains. $2 entry fee.

 

Shotokan Championship

Monday, July 6: SKI Queensland is hosting the 2015 Shotokan Week and SKIA National Championships in Rockhampton. The event will be at Hegvold Stadium in Sir Raymond Huish Dve.
