Five trapped in elevator at luxury hotel

FIVE PEOPLE been rescued after they became trapped in a lift on the Sunshine Coast.

Fire crews were called just after 9pm last night to a luxurious Noosa hotel after the lift became stuck, trapping the five people inside.

Paramedics were also called to the Noosa Drive complex.

A spokesman from the Sunshine Coast Fire Communications Centre said firefighters did not need to pry open the doors, but worked with the hotel managers to override the lift lock to free those trapped inside.

Paramedics did not treat anyone for any injuries.

The entrapment is the fourth lift liberation on the Coast since April 1.
