Flood levels for Moura, Baralaba

FLOOD levels of up to 11.5m are expected Moura tonight and up to 11m at Baralaba later in the week.

The Bureau of Meteorology issued a moderate to major flood level warning about 9.30am for the Dawson River at these towns.

Emergency Management Queensland has also warned people around Woodleigh and Knebworth, west of Gympie, to stay away from the river as flood levels rise.

They have warned people not to cross flooded roads or causeways by car or on foot.

EMQ said 15cm of fast-running water was enough to knock someone off their feet, and only 60cm was enough to sweep a four-wheel-drive off a flooded road.

They have asked parents to keep an eye on their children during the school holidays.

For flood or storm-related assistance contact the State Emergency Service on 132 500 or dial 000 during a life-threatening emergency.
