Flood victims on Brisbane's north begin class action suit
DECEPTION Bay residents - rocked by serious flooding earlier this month - have begun a class action against the contractors of the Moreton Bay Rail Link.
Some residents believe construction work on the new Petrie to Kippa Ring rail line - known as the Moreton Bay Rail Link - contributed to the massive localised flooding on May 1.
Maddens Lawyers held a public meeting on Tuesday night to learn if residents were interested in investigating a class action against the firm constructing the $1 billion Moreton Bay Rail Link.
Brendan Pendergast, the principal lawyer at Maddens Lawyers said residents on Tuesday asked the company to begin a class action for compensation.
Mr Pendergast described last night's meeting as "well attended and spirited."
