Footy Show horror: Ben Ross in hospital after arm-wrestle

Retired NRL prop Ben Ross has landed in hospital after suffering a suspected broken arm or torn bicep during a test-of-strength stunt on Nine's Footy Show.

The forward - who has played for St George, Cronulla, Penrith and South Sydney - took on the Iron Arm Challenge to raise money for the Men of League charity.

During the contest, his arm snapped back - the show rushed to an ad break.

When the Footy Show returned, Paul Vautin and Erin Molan said Ross was taken to hospital for treatment.

The incident appeared to visibly shock the live studio audience.
