Man dead, another hospitalised, after bar brawl

A YOUNG man has died and another is in hospital after a visit to the pub turned deadly early this morning.

The bar brawl at the Beachcomber Hotel in Toukley on the NSW Central Coast involved six people.

Paramedics were unable to save a 28-year-old man who had a cardiac arrest after the fight that happened just after midnight.

The dead man and a 25-year-old had stab wounds.

The younger man had emergency surgery at Gosford Hospital where he is in a serious condition.

Tuggerah Lakes Inspector Col Lott said police had started a homicide investigation.

He said police had spoken to a 20-year-old man but no-one had been charged.
