Four Marlborough SES members honoured at new shed opening
THE OPENING of the new SES shed in Marlborough on Sunday was a double celebration, with four of their finest also honoured.
A total of 90 years of SES experience were recognised with Marlborough SES members Graham and Tracy Sharps, Des O'Donnell and Greg Yates presented with the QLD SES Meritorious Medals.
With hundreds of Road Crash Rescue responses in the Marlborough area over the past quarter of a century, this team of four, along with their fellow Marlborough SES Group members, respond to the call of assistance.
Livingstone Shire Mayor Bill Ludwig, who was present at the event, said in our times of greatest need these volunteers provide a service to the community that is nothing short of outstanding.
"In particular, we are all extremely grateful for the service that the Marlborough SES unit provides in being first responders to road crash incidents on the Bruce Highway," Cr Ludwig said.
