Frenchville fire threat eases

The QFRS advises residents living in or around the Mt Archer area that a large bushfire continues to burn in this area.

However yesterday afternoon the immediate threat had passed to the Frenchville area with the blaze contained to the Mt Archer National Park. Waterbombing helicopters were working in the Lakes Creek and Yeppoon Road areas.

  • Tanby Road, Tanby

The fire broke out around noon yesterday and was mainly burning in inaccessible areas. Fire crews were providing protection to properties by backburning around homes.

  • Dawson Highway, Springsure

Last night the fire was burning within containment lines and no properties were under threat.

  • Connors River Collaroy Road, Lotus Creek

The fire has been burning for several days. Firefighters were conducting backburning activities.
